Dickinson Poetry Series

Dickinson Poetry Series

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County presents the Dickinson Poetry Series at 7:00 PM on the second Wednesday of the month. Each evening a featured poet will read his or her own poetry followed by an opportunity for audience members to read during an open mic session.

The poetry community in Door County is extremely vital. The Dickinson Series features both beginning and established poets and provides a comfortable setting for the reading of new work. These evenings will attract new devotees to poetry as listeners and as writers. The Series is intended to enhance both the appreciation and writing of poetry.

The readings are open to the public and all those who love poetry are welcome. All readings are held at the UU Fellowship, 10341 Water Street (Hwy 42) (next to the Shops of Green Gables) in Ephraim, WI.

Emily Dickinson was a prolific poet producing 1775 poems. She favored liberal and Unitarian writing and shared her religious philosophy with that of another Unitarian, Ralph Waldo Emerson.
