SILENCE
At each Sunday service we have a Moment of Quiet. In the past it has been called a Moment of Silence, occasionally a Moment of Reflection. What is it about silence or quiet that prompts its presence in our weekly services? And what do we expect from observing that moment?
Rik Warch served as president of Lawrence University for twenty-five years, prior to which he taught history at Yale and was dean of the faculty at Lawrence. In 2004, he and Margot retired and moved to Ellison Bay. He has been an occasional speaker at the Fellowship and presently serves on the Board of Directors of Peninsula Players and as co-chair of the advisory committee for Björklunden, Lawrence’s “northern campus.”
