THE GREAT WAY OF YA-HEY
Traditional Views of Experiential Acceptance include ‘Turn the other cheek’ (Jesus) and Stoic (Epictetus): Select the worst seat at a gathering, without shade, in order to develop indifference to sun and heat. Doc Heide will explore the concept of acceptance. Accepting something does not mean condoning it. Accepting something does not mean tolerating it. What do you want your family to do: Accept you or tolerate you?
Fred “Doc” Heide, Associate Professor at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, is best known locally as co-founder of American Folklore Theatre and co-author of musicals such as Guys & Does and Packer Fans From Outer Space.
