September 4 – The Rev. Cynthia Johnson

Rev. Cynthia Johnson

IN CELEBRATION OF WORK THAT IS REAL

Labor Day weekend is a fine time to ponder “work” in society and our
individual lives.  Can the same task be “work” and “play” at different times
in our lives?  How important is money in defining “work?”  What is “the work
of the world” that we are all called to do?

Cynthia Johnson, a retired Unitarian Universalist minister who served UU congregations in Texas and Oklahoma, joined UUFDC in 2000 when she and Al moved to Door County. Cynthia is active as an artist and a poet. She enjoys family and friends, nature, travel, and reading and writing.

Music: Gerri Friedberg, piano. Guest musicians Katie Dahl, vocals and guitar, and Rich Higdon, base and percussion, will sing classic and contemporary work/labor songs.
