“TO PRAISE, AND NOT BE BLINDED BY THE PRAISING…”
We live in a world where religions can clash mercilessly, in a country where the voting booth invites us to shape our future, in a lovely place where autumn blazes around us, and within ancient tradition of the bountiful harvest followed by festivals of thanksgiving. This is a good time to think about gratitude, privilege, humility, finitude, and justice. Jane Hirshfield thinks of these things as part of “The Task.”
Cynthia Johnson, a retired Unitarian Universalist minister who served UU congregations in Texas and Oklahoma, joined UUFDC in 2000 when she and Al moved to Door County. Cynthia is active as an artist and a poet. She enjoys family and friends, nature, travel, and reading and writing.
