UU Gallery Exhibits Works by Jean Crane and Bill Hoge

Jean Crane and Bill Hoge, of Cedarburg and Fish Creek, will be exhibiting their paintings at the Unitarian Universalist Gallery during the month of November.  Jean is an accomplished painter and teacher at the Cedarburg Cultural Center.  Bill practices periodontics in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.  He paints as a hobby.

Jean exhibits her lovely watercolors at the Edgewood Orchards Gallery, Fish Creek.  Other recent exhibits include those at the Chosy Gallery in Madison, Katie Gingrass Gallery in Milwaukee and Lake Country Gallery in Pewaukee. Her technique is transparent watercolor which creates a smooth blend of color and value. She manipulates shapes and values, dark and light, one against another, some to be pushed forward and others to recede into the background.  Plant life is her usual subject.  Her works are numerous and are shown in many private and corporate collections in Wisconsin and the nation.

Spring Garden – Jean Crane

Dr. Hoge is a graduate of Marquette University- School of Dentistry. He has a natural talent for painting and has attended many painting workshops including classes at the Peninsula Art School. For several years he participated in Jean Crane’s watercolor class in Cedarburg.  He tries “not to become caught up in detail, but instead to convey the values, shapes and colors of the subject”. His works displayed in this exhibit are watercolor, oil, acrylic and pastel.
