REEL SPIRITUALITY: CASABLANCA
What is the best movie of all time? Many people answer “Casablanca.” But if you ask them “Why?” they can’t say much beyond, “It’s a great story.” Indeed, it is a great story but the art (deft and dazzling) and theology (bold and Buddhist) of the film move us at a much deeper level. This message is a revealing talk about a great work of cinematic art and what we learn from it. (Come watch Casablanca on the big screen at the Fellowship at 6:30 on Saturday, the night before this message.)
Joan Shiels is a familiar face at our fellowship. A frequent speaker, her topics span a wide range of interests. This time she returns to a favorite: the art and theology of great films.
Prepare for this service by seeing the movie Casablanca at the UU Fellowship on Saturday, December 1 at 6:30 pm.
