Writing Your Life Story: An Introductory Workshop

Myrna Cohn

“A life story is a gift one generation bestows upon another.”

Have you ever that you have a personal or family story to tell, but you just don’t know where or how to begin? Myrna L. Cohn is teaching a workshop on May 23, from 1 – 3 pm designed just for you. No prior writing experience is required.  The session will focus on the essentials, from creating a writing plan via the “memory list” recall exercise to writing a brief story.

The “Turning Memories into Memoirs” writing method, on which this workshop is based, was developed in 1988 by Denis Ledoux, an experienced teacher and noted author.  Since then, tens of thousands of people have used this book to preserve their memories through the magic of the written word.

Cohn is an Affiliate Teacher for the Soleil Lifestory Network, a personal writing coach, editor and ghostwriter.

This workshop will be held at the UU Fellowship. It is free and open to the public. However, advance registration is required. To register, contact the UUFDC office at 854-7559 or contact@uufdc.org
