THE PROMISE AND PRACTICE OF COMMUNITY
At the heart of our Unitarian Universalist tradition is the intention to create and sustain caring communities in which participants are supported and encouraged to live lives of principle and service and care for one another. What does this look like? What are the ways UUFDC manifests the promise of community?
Karen Gustafson just retired after six years as Associate Minister at the First Unitarian Society of Madison and with her husband John returned to Duluth, Minnesota, where she was minister of the UU Congregation, Duluth from 1986-2007. Karen graduated from the Starr King School for the Ministry. Prior to seminary, she was a public school educator in Superior, Wisconsin and International Falls, Minnesota. During that time she consulted with a number of small congregations in the Prairie Star District and Thunder Bay, Ontario. She is looking forward to this time with UUFDC.
