Dickinson Poetry — March 12, 7 pm:
A Theory of Lipstick + Sister Satellite = Poet Science = Split Personalities

Split Personalities is the title of the book of collaborative poems authored by the two featured readers this month, Cathy Cofell and Karla Huston. Each will read selections of her own poetry, followed by some of the collaborative poems and a brief description of the process of collaboration.
Cathryn Cofell is the author of Sister Satellite, a collection of poetry released in 2013 by Cowfeather Press. She has also published six chapbooks, most recently Split Personality with Karla Huston (Sunnyoutside Press), and performs live with Obvious Dog including tracks from Lip. She’s committed to furthering the influence of poetry on our everyday lives in Wisconsin, including working with the governor to found the Wisconsin Poet Laureate Commission in 2000 and serving again as its Chair since 2012 and helping to launch and promote, among others, Verse Wisconsin, the Fox Cities Book Festival, the Foot of the Lake Poetry Collective, the WFOP Chapbook Prize and the Harmony Café Poetry Series.

Karla Huston is the author of A Theory of Lipstick (Main Street Rag: 2013) as well as seven chapbooks of poetry, most recently, Outside of a Dog: 2013 (dancinggirlpress.com). Winner of many awards, she teaches at The Mill: A Place for Writers in Appleton, Wisconsin, and serves on the board of directors for The Mill: A Place for Writers, The Foot of the Lake Poetry Collective, The Council for Wisconsin Writers and on the author’s committee for the Fox Cities Book Festival.
