April 6 – Poetry Sunday: Justice

For National Poetry Month in recent years, several poets among UU Members and Friends have each written and presented a poem on a common theme (the Equinox, Easter) for a Sunday in April. This year, we have chosen to address the theme (or principle, experience, idea, practice) of justice. As always, our purpose is to reflect on the theme in our own voices and styles, hoping that our call will elicit responses from those who hear it. In addition to being parents and citizens, our poets have worked in many fields–among them architecture, business, construction, education, law and theatre–where fairness may be judged differently, and our presentation follows Justice Sunday, which will be devoted to environmental issues this year. Expect a lively discussion.
