EMBRACING THE WILD
Mary Oliver says: What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life? In Maurice Sendak’s book “Where the Wild Things Are, Max is sent to his room for acting wild. In his room he becomes king of the wild things and they have a great rumpus together. In the end of the story, Max realizes he doesn’t belong with the wild things and returns home to his family. It’s fun to be wild but it’s not our destiny. But what if it is? Every creature is wild. We are at heart a wild thing. Is it where the transformative power of ecstasy and joy reside?
