CHRISTMAS AND THE DIVINE CHILD
Santa Claus lives at the North Pole. He’s been busy all year working and thinking about you. But how can he find you with all the houses in the world, and yet he does, and somehow he knows what you’ve been hoping for. How can he do this with all the children in the world and yet somehow he knows. If this was the only miracle story in your life, it would suffice, that the whole world is capable of being miraculous.
The birth narratives in the Gospels are not related to history any more than the story of Santa Claus is related to the history of St. Nicholas. These stories are symbolic of a deeper reality.
