Beginning Monday, April 13, and continuing for five consecutive Mondays, Gwynne Schultz and Dick Smythe will lead a small group discussion focused on selected essays and topics from the book Moral Ground: Ethical Action for a Planet in Peril. This powerful book brings together the testimony of eighty-eight theologians and religious leaders, naturalists, scientists, elected officials, business leaders, activists, and writers to present a compelling call to honor our individual and collective moral responsibility to our planet. Attendees will be limited to eighteen and each session will run from 9:30 am to 11am. Each person will be expected to purchase a copy of the book, read several designated chapters before each class, and come prepared to discuss comments and ideas suggested by the readings and highlighted by Gwynne and Dick.
If you would like to participate please notify Pat Crow by phone or email by February 15. If more than eighteen signify an interest we will still limit the class to the first eighteen to “sign up” but we will consider options to try and accommodate the others. If fewer than eighteen people indicate an interest we will open the class to others outside the UUFDC community.
