Marty Gerber retired to Door County after a 32-year teaching career that ranged from Junior High to College. She taught both two-dimensional and three-dimensional art classes, and created curricula for Advanced Placement Art History and Special Needs students.

Her first love was drawing, but during her teaching years, she became a multi-media artist, experimenting with printmaking, textiles and metals. In retirement she has reverted to the pencil, exploring the single line and multiple lines running across a sheet of paper and occasionally adding color with pastels.

She has shown her drawings and portraits in Door County since 2000 in Door County Art League exhibits, Miller Art Museum Invitationals, Chez Cheryl Portrait Shows, and at the Hardy Gallery, UUFDC, and Charlene’s Gallery Ten. She received a first-place award at the Neville Gallery’s Art Annual in 2004 and purchase awards in the National Farms and Barns Exhibit in Kewaunee in 2002-05.
