About Patt Huss:

After many years of working as a muralist, Patt Huss is becoming an abstract artist in smaller formats. Intrigued by water, rocks, worn walls and cracks in the walkways, she seeks to “create richly textured paintings that reflect the way [she] feels about the beauty and mystery that nature holds.” Often a figure or a spiritual element emerges in these textured layers, as she searches for meaning and purpose in each mark on the canvas.

Patt is an active Wisconsin artist whose paintings have already appeared this year in several Fox Cities galleries as well as at the Hardy, the Woodwalk and Peninsula School of Art in Door County. She currently teaches an Oil and Cold Wax class at the Mud and Print Gallery and continues to take Master classes herself.

About Deke Palacek:

Deke Palacek is a Northeast Wisconsin oil painter devoted to plein air painting all over the country because it allows her to “find that place where a single brushstroke becomes a solitary building or a whole street; a simple path or miles of landscape; the difference between warmth and comfort or solitude and empty space.”  With a BS in Math, an MBA from Berkeley and a variety of careers behind her, she is an artist because she is fascinated by the way the brain assimilates visual information and translates it into a feeling or experience; “painting is this process in slow motion.” In her work, “the challenge is not to lose this glimpse, this feeling, this experience in the translation.”
