The new owners of Woodwalk Gallery, Jillaine Burton and Andrew Seefeldt, have curated a UU Gallery show from among the 70 artists they feature.

About the Exhibit: This show is a rich testament to the boundless talent surrounding us and a chance not only to enjoy art but also to shop for the holidays.

Art, like vegetables, can be home grown. Creating a work of beauty is like cultivating a garden and then creating culinary masterpieces for friends and family. Most of Woodwalk’s artists hail from Door County or from neighboring states with strong ties to the area. With an emphasis on variety, this show features a selection of home grown artisan gifts for the holiday season. It is both a sampling and a reflection of what the gallery has to offer. Steve Stanger and Christy Kelly-Bentgen capture some of the more abstract imaginings, whereas John McGee and Kristi Roenning focus on nature and realistic objects. Anything in the show is available for purchase.

Featured artists include: Tracy Anderson, Terra Paulsen-Chmielewski, Cathy Jean Clark, Jill Ewald, Ann Fahl, Barb and Doug Henderson, Dean Hoegger, Sr. Carla Huebner, Christy Kelly-Bentgen, Cynthia Linnabary, John McGee, Mary Mendla, Mark Motquin, Barbara Ottum, Kristi Roenning, Stella Rogers, Brian Sauerland, and Steve Stanger.

UU Gallery Special Events: There will be a reception on Sunday, Nov. 5, from noon until 2 pm. Write-On Door County will hold an Art Speaks: Free Writing Lab on the gallery exhibit Thursday, November 9 at 1:30 pm. The writing lab provides a peaceful writing space for expression and reflection on the artwork.

About the Exhibit Curators: Jillaine Burton began as a ballet dancer, moved into fashion and residential remodeling before she joined the Kohler Company. Andrew Seefeldt also worked for Kohler and brings his experience in landscape and construction to the Gallery. At Woodwalk Gallery, they exhibit painting, metalwork, wood, glass, jewelry, and furniture from May to December.
