Scandia Village is a jewel of northern Door County! It first opened its doors in 1981 and has been a vital part of the northern Door community ever since. With a continuum of residential and care options ranging from individual villas and apartments to assisted living, a care center and a dementia unit, it is the only facility of its kind north of Green Bay. Scandia Village serves the community in many ways, chief among them is the rehab/therapy center which allows northern Door residents to receive rehabilitation services close by. Scandia Village also prepares the food for Meals on Wheels and for the Northern Door Children’s Center. Many community functions such as Clearing classes, play readings, poetry sessions, concerts and art classes take place on the campus. SCAND—which stands for Senior Citizen Agency of Northern Door–is a non-profit under the auspices of the Good Samaritan Society. It employs over 100 people and has more than 300 volunteers. It adds $22 million annually to the Door County economy. Scandia Village is in the final phase of an $8 million dollar capital campaign to expand and enhance its campus and services. Planning is underway for a new 14 unit short-term rehabilitation/skilled care wing, with ground breaking scheduled for early spring 2017. Your generous support of Scandia Village and the new unit is greatly appreciated.
