An evening of ekphrastic poetry will be shared by guest reader, Francha Barnard, for the month of November’s Dickinson Series Presentation, on Wednesday, November 13th, 7 pm at the Fellowship.

For three years, Francha has led Write On Door County’s sessions for Art/Speaks, an outreach program which visits galleries, primarily Edgewood Orchard in Fish Creek and Lockwood Gallery in Sturgeon Bay. There she welcomes new and established writers in various genres, primarily poetry, to select a piece of art in the gallery or gardens and spend an hour closely observing and drafting a poem or short story or play outline inspired by the art. Francha will read poems from her Art/Speaks visits with an accompanying slideshow.

About Dickinson Poetry Series: On the second Wednesday of every month the Dickinson Poetry Series features a renowned local or regional poet followed by an open mic, providing an opportunity for others to read their poetry. A reception follows affording an opportunity to meet the poets. The Series is named for Emily Dickinson, a prolific poet and philosophically in tune with Unitarian beliefs. The public is welcome and there is no charge. The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is located at 10341 Hwy. 42 in north Ephraim. For more information call (920) 854-7559.
