John Patrick Redell (Jack) will take to the Dickinson Poetry Series stage at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Ephraim on Wednesday, December 11 at 7 pm. The Dickinson Series is named after the Emily Dickinson, the famous American poet and includes a performance by a “featured” poet(s) and then an open-mic where poets from the audience have the opportunity to present one of their poems.

Jack worked as a construction engineer in Chicago and 15 other states before leaving an uninspiring group of acquaintances to retire in Door County. The creative community here helped him retain a sense of a humanity missing in American life today. He’s had things published in the Peninsula Pulse, Door County Living, Wisconsin Poets museletter’s, calender’s, Bramble and several collaborative chap books. His current viewpoint is an unpoetic expletive of contemporary life that inspires his thinking.

About Dickinson Poetry Series: On the second Wednesday of every month the Dickinson Poetry Series features a renowned local or regional poet followed by an open mic, providing an opportunity for others to read their poetry. A reception follows affording an opportunity to meet the poets. The Series is named for Emily Dickinson, a prolific poet and philosophically in tune with Unitarian beliefs. The public is welcome and there is no charge. The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is located at 10341 Hwy. 42 in north Ephraim. For more information call (920) 854-7559.
