Karen Nystrom, poet and playwright, will take the Dickinson Poetry Series stage at the UU Fellowship of Door County on Wednesday, June 7th at 7 PM.

Karen Nystrom is a poet and playwright living in Ellison Bay, WI. She has an MFA in Writing from Vermont College. Her poems have appeared in 8142 Review, The Denver Quarterly, The Harvard Review, Indiana ReviewPortage Magazine and others. Her play, SMOKE was produced by Three Brothers Theatre and is currently looking for a theater for her most recent play, 7 TEETH: A Northwoods Farce.

As of May 2023, the Dickinson Poetry Series changed their meeting date. The series will now be held the first Wednesday of the month.

About Dickinson Poetry Series: On the FIRST Wednesday of every month the Dickinson Poetry Series features a renowned local or regional poet followed by an open mic, providing an opportunity for others to read their poetry. A reception follows affording an opportunity to meet the poets. The Series is named for Emily Dickinson, a prolific poet and philosophically in tune with Unitarian beliefs.
