Lee LeVoy began writing poems for her family 25 years ago. In recent years her poetry has become a spiritual practice: mindfulness of the moment, listening to the inner voice. She writes about what amazes her in people and in the world.

When LeVoy moved with her husband from Chicago to Ellison Bay in ‘99, she continued her career in parish ministry. She is also the Director of Sanctuary, a retreat in Ellison Bay. Living in Door County has offered LeVoy new possibilities for growth in a circle of Poets, especially Belles Lettres Poetry Writing Group.

LeVoy’s first book of poems, Still Voice, was published in spring, 2017. Her poems have appeared in Wisconsin Poets’ Calendar, and Listen: A Seeker’s Resource.

About Dickinson Poetry Series: On the second Wednesday of every month the Dickinson Poetry Series features a renowned local or regional poet followed by an open mic, providing an opportunity for others to read their poetry. A reception follows affording an opportunity to meet the poets. The Series is named for Emily Dickinson, a prolific poet and philosophically in tune with Unitarian beliefs.
