Albert DeGenova is an award-winning poet, publisher, and teacher.  He is the author of four books of poetry and two chapbooks, most recent is the chapbook Mama’s Blues from Finishing Line Press. His work has appeared in numerous journals including: RHINO, The Paterson Literary Review, The Louisville Review, Aesthetica Magazine, The Café Review and others.  DeGenova is the founder of After Hours Press and editor of After Hours magazine, a journal of Chicago writing and art which launched in June of 2000.  DeGenova received his MFA in writing from Spalding University in Louisville.

DeGenova was recently named Executive Director at Write On, Door County.  He splits his time now between Sturgeon Bay and the metro Chicago area.  He is also a blues saxophonist and one-time contributing editor for the jazz magazine Down Beat.

About Dickinson Poetry Series: On the second Wednesday of every month the Dickinson Poetry Series features a renowned local or regional poet followed by an open mic, providing an opportunity for others to read their poetry. A reception follows affording an opportunity to meet the poets. The Series is named for Emily Dickinson, a prolific poet and philosophically in tune with Unitarian beliefs.
