An Evening of Poetry and Discussion with Wisconsin Poet Laureate Margaret Rozga
At this opening event in the 2019-2020 Emily Dickinson Poetry Series, Margaret Rozga will read from her latest book Pestiferous Questions: A Life in Poems and talk about her inspiration and poetic process. She will welcome questions and comments from the audience.
Wisconsin Poet Laureate Margaret Rozga has published four books of poetry, including Pestiferous Questions: A Life in Poems (2017), written with support from the American Antiquarian Society. She edited the poetry chapbook anthology Where I Want to Live: Poems for Fair & Affordable Housing, a project for the 50th anniversary of Milwaukee’s fair housing marches. She participated in those marches and wrote about them in 200 Nights and One Day, her first book of poems. Her work has appeared recently or is forthcoming in Leaping Clear, Rock & Sling, Presence, and in the anthology Van Gogh Dreams.
About Dickinson Poetry Series: On the second Wednesday of every month the Dickinson Poetry Series features a renowned local or regional poet followed by an open mic, providing an opportunity for others to read their poetry. A reception follows affording an opportunity to meet the poets. The Series is named for Emily Dickinson, a prolific poet and philosophically in tune with Unitarian beliefs. The public is welcome and there is no charge. The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is located at 10341 Hwy. 42 in north Ephraim. For more information call (920) 854-7559.
