MOVIES THAT MATTER partners with Door County Civility Project Screening:
(Dis)Honesty: Truth About Lies

The documentary film, (Dis)Honesty: The Truth About Lies (2015, 90 minutes), directed by Yael Melamede, looks at the deep-down reasons why humans lie.

Building upon the work of social scientist Dan Ariely, the film combines the use of personal stories, expert opinions, and behavioral experiments to uncover the reasons why people are dishonest.
Participants shown in the film share their own stories about lies that they’ve told in the past. Some of these lies are downright awful and destructive, while some of these recalled like are harmless “white lies”.

A group discussion will be held after the viewing of this film.

About the Movies that Matter Series: The film is part of the UUFDC’s monthly Movies That Matter series examining a wide range of issues. The free screenings are followed by a discussion. Donations to help defray the costs of public performance licensing are appreciated. The series invites consciousness and intellectual inquiry, which is philosophically in tune with Unitarian Universalists beliefs. The UUFDC Fellowship is located at 10341 Hwy. 42 in north Ephraim.
