Movies That Matter presents Minding the Gap (2018, 100 min) on Tuesday, June 18th, 4:30 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County in Ephraim. This award-winning documentary film takes raw, self-filmed footage of three middle schools boys from different races, to set the stage for an introspective understanding of their lives now as young adults. The film is set in Rockford, IL.

Film Logline:

“Three young men bond across racial lines to escape volatile families in their Rust Belt hometown. Ten years later, while facing adult responsibilities, unsettling revelations force them to reckon with their fathers, their mothers, and each other.”

About the Movies that Matter Series: The film is part of the UUFDC’s monthly Movies That Matter series examining a wide range of issues. The free screenings are followed by a discussion. The series invites consciousness and intellectual inquiry, which is philosophically in tune with Unitarian Universalists beliefs. The UUFDC Fellowship is located at 10341 Hwy. 42 in north Ephraim.
