As we begin to gather again in larger groups, I’m so excited, but I also have lots of questions about how we do that and what it means. And what do we need to gather within ourselves to be ready for public gatherings? I have to gather my wits, my bearings, my thoughts, my composure. I may have to muster some courage, too. A weekend of full house gatherings at the Utah Shakespeare Festival is helping me give shape to my thoughts before we gather together at UU.

Alan Kopischke is a university professor, arts consultant, and professional actor. He has acted with the Peninsula Players, Third Avenue Playhouse, Steppenwolf, Milwaukee Rep and regional theatres across the country and has appeared in feature films and on primetime network television. A UU since 2002, Alan and his family moved to Door County and joined UUFDC in 2007. Alan lives in Fish Creek with the fabulously talented costume designer Kärin Simonson Kopischke. They have two adult children: Anya, a theatre and performance professional in NYC, and Simon, a mathematics/computer science student at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology.
