When we talk about choirs, we often use words that describe a utopian community, such as “angelic”, “blend”, or “harmony”. But the real work of being a member of a choir, like being a member of a community or nation, can be much harder, or even painful. In this message, Steve Sieck, Co-Director of Choirs at Lawrence University and Director of Music at the Fox Valley UU Fellowship, shares his research and reflections on what it means to be in community from his unique perspective as a choir director. Join Steve for a conversation on what it means to join our voices in harmony!
