Being Civil is not for the faint of heart.  When extreme opinions and ideologies challenge our rationality, we can stay strong embracing the Speak Your Peace pathway.  We will exam how Listening, Showing Respect, and Sharing Constructive Criticism are the keystones of the Speak Your Peace Pathway.

Since coalescing in February 2013, Door County Civility Project has given hundreds of presentations regarding the nine tools of the Speak Your Peace. Door County residents and visitors have joined us to discuss enhancing and maintaining civility. Those nine tools include pay attention, listen, be inclusive, don’t gossip, show respect, be agreeable, apologize, give constructive criticism, and take responsibility.

Mark Nelson a ten-year member of the Door County Civility Project steering committee and workshop  facilitator.
