Experience teaches us, backed by rigorous studies, that the arts are essential to a full education as human beings. Once again, though, the study of what it means to be human and to express that in community is under threat. How can we keep the arts alive and accessible to all? Alan takes stock of the current state of the arts (especially in education) and tries to chart a path forward. Maybe you can help.

Alan Kopischke is a university professor, arts consultant, and professional actor.
