What happens when we hide from our true self?
Blanche Brown is an art therapy/counselor practitioner who believes in the power of art to heal. She is a supporter and facilitator of the changes that people seek to make in their lives. Brown serves survivors of abuse, violence, and disaster as a trainer in the healing arts. Brown currently resides in Milwaukee and has been a professional artist for over 17 years, exhibiting nationally and locally. As an art and community activist, Brown’s work addresses social injustices and the psychological and psychosocial impact these issues have on underserved and underrepresented groups. Her practice provides a forum for youth, women, minorities, and other diverse individuals to openly discuss the challenges they encounter; namely, stereotypes, inequality, and violence that invade their lives.
