UUFDC Hosts Social Economic Community Discussions
There will be two TED Talks presented and a speaker focusing on women’s health care issues. In the first TED talk, Rachel Bergstein discusses how important it is to be your own advocate when seeking medical advice and care. In the second TED talk, Alyson McGregor discusses how women are not included in medical research, giving them inferior health care. She further explains that is why some medicines have the potential for dangerous side effects when prescribed to women. Kathy Wagner, RN, will present information on how to advocate for yourself at doctor’s appointments. After the videos and presentation a discussion of the issues will occur and Kathy will address any questions or concerns.
