Shakespeare’s legacy has endured over 400 years through his brilliant canon of plays and poetry. Is Shakespeare still relevant? Many ask if there is still a place for his work on the stages of modern theatre. I believe, and have witnessed, Shakespeare’s theatre serve today’s world in tremendous ways. Shakespeare’s work ignites curiosity within our hearts and minds. This curiosity is what makes us explore, delve deeper, acquire a new understanding, and ultimately connect. How does Shakespeare influence us to be curious, create, and connect?

Amy Ludwigsen holds an MA in Classical and Contemporary Text from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre from Northwestern University. She currently serves as the Executive Director of Door Shakespeare in Baileys Harbor and has dedicated her career to producing Shakespeare’s work.
