Lessons From a Wolf and Two Grizzly Bears with Dick Smythe
About the Message: Many creatures with whom we share this planet, including wolves and bears, have evolved capacities and behaviors that demonstrate both intelligence and the ability to adapt to changes in their environments. This morning I will share two true stories – one about a Yellowstone wolf, the other about two Colorado grizzlies, brother and sister. I believe all three of these animals have something to teach us. I trust we pay attention.
About the Speaker: Dick Smythe is an entomologist retired from the research division of the US Forest Service. Throughout his life he has maintained two dominant interests: first, his fascination with the natural world – our non-human environment and endless source of wonder; second, his abiding interest in religion/theology – a subject of continuing education and challenge.
