Roger Bertschausen’s favorite poet is Wislawa Szymborska, the late Nobel Prize-winning Polish poet. Some of Roger’s all-time favorite services at the Fellowship have been collaborative sermons with the accomplished mezzo-soprano, Cynthia Stiehl. So you can imagine Roger’s excitement that his last collaboration with Cyndy at the Fellowship will feature three poems by Szymborska, set to music by two talented composers Cyndy commissioned: James Valcq, composer of the award-winning musical “The Spitfire Grill,” and Colin Welford, best known for musical direction on Broadway as well as international productions of “The Lion King” and “Billy Elliot.” Come for the world premiere of three amazing musical settings of Szymborska poems and Roger’s reflections. Dan Van Sickle will accompany Cyndy.
The Rev. Roger Bertschausen just retired as the Senior Minister at Fox Valley UU Fellowship, where he served since 1990.
